MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1962 film?

Adapted from the novel by French writer François Mauriac. When Thérèse Desqueyroux is acquitted by a court of attempting to poison her husband Bernard, recapitulates the events that led also to be charged with attempted murder. The gray and dreary provincial life and a stifling social conventions led her to marry a human being bland and inspido, which only concerned about maintaining their properties and the good name of the family. The puzzle is whether it was an accident, if Therese deliberately increased the dose of medicine that Bernard took or planned it unconsciously. A remake called Thérèse Desqueyroux (2012) was made based on this movie.
