MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1957 film?

A dangerous offender is caught after a chase by rugged mountains. As it is getting dark, the police inspector, with a policeman and also the scumbag, decided to spend the night in a shelter. There, the caretaker of the shelter and a painter engage in a discussion about the destination, and each, to thereby reinforce his theory explains a mysterious case.
