MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1999 film?

In 1868, after a bloody civil war, Japan abolished the shogunate and began the Meiji Era, a period of westernization and progress. The main architect of the victory of the reformist camp was a young and ruthless murderer known as Hitokiri Battosai. The only time Battosai peace, away from politics and war, were spent in the arms of Tomoe, a sweet girl whom fate had tragically linked. After the war, Battosai swore never to kill and went to wander the country: thus was born the legend of Kenshin Himura, the last samurai. But what were the tragic events that led him to make that choice and marked him for life? What price had to be paid for the shiny new Meiji era ? Consists of four OVAs Movie 30 minutes each, which tells Kenshin's past. There is another OVA, called " Rurouni Kenshin: Seisouhen " covering the events following the anime. This movie is part of the Rurôni Kenshin saga (1997, 1999, 2001, 2012).
