The London lawyer Owen Lockhart travels to the coast to sell the inheritance that his uncle has left him, the imposing Sitcom Manor. There he meets Holly, who works for him and lives alone with his son. They fall in love but Holly lives haunted by the secret of killing her husband two years ago.
