MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1957 film?

In the midst of a heartbreak, Pierre tries to poison himself in the home of his Lemonnier friends. The latter stop the fatal gesture and Pierre gives in to their reasons, noticing, however, that if a man is prevented from committing suicide, then he must be helped to regain a taste for life. The Lemonniers have understood their duty. The family friend settles into the home, whose peaceful order is soon upset by the attention paid to the guest, then by his increasing demands. The son is furious, but the daughter is in love with this hero of the novel. As for the sister-in-law, who has a mania for tests, she subjects the suicide candidate to them and discovers with terror that Pierre is haunted by the idea of death, including that of the others.
