MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1957 film?

Adapted from a novel by Alec Waugh. Very different characters intersect in the Caribbean island of Santa Marta, which is developing a diplomatic problem between white planter and also racist and progressive black candidate. This film was very controversial at the time, to present relationships between characters of different races: was boycotted by the Ku Klux Klan and prohibited in South Carolina.
