The patent war initiated by Edison in the early twentieth century pushed westward foreigners hundreds of Jews who came from Europe in search of tolerance and economic security. In a few years, these men invented the American dream. Carl Laemmle planted the cornerstones of Universal City, a city devoted to film, with everything you need to produce movies. It was inaugurated in 1915, and in subsequent years, the Warner, Cohn, Zukor, Goldwyn, Fox built their own studios, which later became known as Warner Bros, Paramount, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, RKO, Columbia, United Artists.
