MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1938 film?

After the period of the gold rush in California, began the rivalry between farmers and miners in the Sacramento Valley. Col. Chris Ferris, a wealthy farmer, was strongly opposed to hydraulic mining, a new method developed in the 70s, during the gold rush, because it is flooding the most prosperous farmland in the region. Although the position of Ferris, Jared Whitney, a mining engineer from the East, not only does the son of Colonel companion, but also falls in love with Serena, the beautiful daughter Ferris.
