MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1957 film?

Up-and-coming actress Caterina Bastiani senses the opportunity of a lifetime when she is offered the lead role in a musical. But the author of the novel has reservations about this: firstly, he doesn't want to see his material adapted as a musical revue, and secondly, he doesn't think much of Caterina. So chance comes to the aspiring actress's rescue. When she hears that the writer is looking for a maid, she applies for the job without further ado. With success - and not without consequences.
