MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1996 film?

Charles Veasey is a murderer about to be executed, yet manages to escape from prison. Cruise is a teen Nikki police are determined to find Veasey, since it killed his father, a veteran police. Despite the reluctance of his superiors, Nikki begins to search the criminal. Then Harrison Coyle, a successful author of detective novels, which provides aid to Nikki because Veasey thinks the case is an excellent subject for his next book appears. Although initially Nikki refuses, then eventually accepting the help of Harrison. Together they try to find the dangerous murderer.
