When Sakaguchi, the doctor who performed the artificial insemination, is experiencing problems with his wife Shina, Ritsujo tells that he is the sperm donor is making him fall in love passionately. Finally, there are further complications: Shina Takashi kidnaps and tries to seduce Shingo. The Ritsujo inability to feel erotic attraction toward her husband is shown by the sterility, which is a metaphor for the modern woman, alienated by the sweet and peaceful roles devoted wife and mother.
