MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1948 film?

In a small village in China, a woman, Yuwen, lives with her husband, Liyan, suffering from a respiratory disease and not wanting to live, and with his young wife, who still goes to school. Liyan is the heir of the former Dai rich family, whose house, after the war, has been half in runes. Yuwen is doomed to resignation and a monotonous life without esperenzas for the future. But when spring came, Zhichen, a former colleague of Liyan, suddenly appear to be reunited with his old partner, without even imagine who is married. Considered by critics as the best piece Chinese cinematográgica chronic, in 2002 the director Tian Zhuangzhuang directed a remake released in Spain under the title of "Spring in a small place .". A remake called Primavera en un lugar pequeño (2002) was made based on this movie.
