MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1993 film?

1840s. A young Jamaican landowner marries a newcomer English to keep their property. Everything appears to be perfect, love arises, and happiness is coming, but it hides an ancient secret about his childhood and his mother. Slowly, this secret begins to erode the perfect relationship and, perhaps, the story of his mother will begin again, with her. A remake called Wide Sargasso Sea (2006) was made based on this movie.
