MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1956 film?

Mario Clar ist der erfolgreiche Mitinhaber eines Ingenieurbüros in Zürich. Umso härter trifft den zuverlässigen Mann die Nachricht, dass eine vom ihm entwickelte Brücke eingestürzt ist und 43 Menschen in den Tod gerissen hat. Marios Schuldgefühle sind so stark, dass er sich entschließt, seinem Leben in den Bergen ein Ende zu machen. Sein Plan wird jedoch von einem Hirten vereitelt, und durch die Liebe zu der ihn pflegenden Angela, der Tochter eines Landarztes, findet er zurück ins Leben. In dem Gebirgsort angekommen, erfährt der heimtückische Seduc, dass man mittlerweile ihm die Schuld an dem Brückenunglück nachweisen kann. Er behauptet gegenüber Mario, dessen Verhaftung stünde unmittelbar bevor. Mario will über die Grenze flüchten, begleitet von dem Bergführer Beni, der ebenfalls in Angela verliebt ist. Unterwegs geraten die beiden in einen schweren Streit, in dessen Verlauf Mario in die Tiefe stürzt. Seduc wähnt sich am Ziel seiner Wünsche.
