MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1949 film?

The legend set during the colonization of the North ( the Laurentian region in Quebec in the late nineteenth century, between 1885 and 1890, near Sainte - Adèle. Become town mayor Laloge Donalda marry later that indeed the father of it, unable to repay its debt, given in marriage. A man without scruples, Séraphin Poudrier, dominates the small community using his fortune.
