MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1946 film?

Movie that even comes from a book of the same title which represented an event when published in 1840. Its author was a Harvard student named Richard Henry Dana Jr., and is also based on the experiences gained during a boat trip as a sailor from Cape Horn to California. In this newspaper recounted the poor hygiene of the sailors, thus as sadistic and inhuman treatment of commanding officers.
