MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2000 film?

In 1873, a crime shocked the Smuttynose Island. Three women were attacked: two died and one survived. An aura of mystery has surrounded this macabre case from those years. A century later, a photographer visiting the island to investigate the crime with her husband, his brother and the latter's wife. When deciphered what happened, makes a parallel with the story and complicates his journey.
