The title refers to columns that even lead to shady courtyards of ancient Athens Lyceum, remembered here at the interiors of industrial buildings, bathed by the morning light, totally devoid of human figures. The remaining piece of cinema, features beautiful tree-lined creeks planes and misty valleys, portrayed as if they were careful compositions of nineteenth -century landscape paintings. An ineffable, unnameable immanence flow occurs through images of The stoas, where the presence of the human soul is manifested by the absence of the human figure on nature. Beavers took seven years to complete this film, shot between 1991 and 1997.
