MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1949 film?

Sammy Rice is a bomb expert scientist, with severe wounds of war, moreover achieved only by pain relief pills and alcohol ; lives locked in itself, self-destructive behavior and a rocky relationship with his girlfriend Susan. When his superiors order him to investigate on a new type of pump trap created by the Germans, the nerves and the resolution of Sammy reach their limits.
