MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1999 film?

The retired private detective Jim Rockford to investigate a series of child rapes when his friend Ernie Landale, a respected school teacher, is accused of sexual abuse. Through circumstantial evidence, Landale is chased by the police, the media, school officials, even people who in addition thought were his friends, even though it has not been found guilty in a court of law or at least accused of crimes through much of the film. As Landale, his wife Rita, his lawyer Beth and police Lt. Becker struggle to win the battle against public opinion, Rockford realizes that the only way to clear the name of his friend is to find the real rapist. This movie is part of the The Rockford Files saga (1994, 1996, 1996, 1996, 1999, 2010).
