MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1936 film?

In 1865, just hours after the murder of President Lincoln, Dr. Mudd helps John Wilkes, a humble man who also presents you with a broken leg. It turns out that John Wilkes is the murderer and broke his leg while fleeing. Arrested and charged with complicity, Dr. Mudd was sentenced for life in prison Shark Island, where he will suffer abuse and hatred of the guards, especially the sadistic Sergeant Rankin.
