MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1948 film?

In 1865, once the Civil War, Colonel Owen Devereaux sadistic Union Army, returns home in Colorado. There is greeted as a hero, with his colleague and friend Captain Del Stewart. Colonel Deveraux has left behind a trail of violence and unnecessary deaths. Captain Stewart fears that the conflict has upset him. Caroline Emmet, lady both are in love, agrees to marry Deveraux.
