The Maltese Falcon is a national treasure. Often cited as the first film black film, many film historians consider it the best detective movie ever made. Through interviews with movie stars like Peter Bogdanovich, Michael Madsen, James Cromwell, Frank Miller and Christopher McQuarrie, discover the magic that director John Huston brought to this, his first feature. As a bonus, the documentary also examines the two previous attempts to adapt Dashiell Hammett's novel to the screen, first as a typical image of the detective, later as comedy starring, by a young Bette Davis. This movie is part of the The Maltese Falcon trilogy (1931, 1941, 2006).
