1926. World War I aviation has become popular, and some pilots, once discharged, to earn a living with air shows increasingly dangerous due to competition. Waldo Pepper is one of them and his stunts are becoming more risky. This creates problems because the authorities need to convince the public that the aircraft is a safe means of transport in order to promote the development of commercial aviation. In these circumstances, the film is the best outlet for Waldo.
