MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1946 film?

A private detective, who almost live in poverty, one day discovers he is being followed. After rounding up his pursuer, find out which acts on the orders of a former partner who quarreled over. Shortly later involved in an assassination plot calculated.
