Second part of the trilogy Beiderbecke. Geordie Trevor Chaplin teaches woodwork and likes football and listening to jazz. Jill Swinburne teaches English and wants to help rescue the world. Jill decides to stand as a councilor. A chronicle of " Black Economies ", corruption and various strange characters.
