MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2012 film?

On November 7, 1991, the legendary Los Angeles Lakers player Earvin 'Magic ' Johnson shocked the world by announcing he would retire immediately from the NBA because he had been diagnosed as HIV positive. Although it was only carrying the virus and had not developed AIDS, in those years, the mere mention of HIV was perceived as a certain death sentence. In addition, there were still many prejudices, as it was considered a disease that only homosexuals and drug addicts suffering and not known exactly nor its origin, nor the mode of transmission and how you could monitor the progress of the disease, making patients social stigma. This report, directed by Nelson George, assesses the impact that the declaration of 'Magic' was to humanize this global pandemic, teaching that anyone could be carrying the virus, regardless of their sexual or social status, and that you could live with the disease.
