MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1993 film?

Adapted from the novel A Tale of Sparrow, by Giovanni Verga. Set in Sicily in 1854, describes the drama of a young novice who, because of a cholera epidemic, is forced to leave the convent in which bare twelve years, and settle with his family. Outside the convent madly fall in love a young, which awaken in her a strong sense of confusion and guilt.
