MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1949 film?

In a small town in Connecticut, in the early twentieth century, a mature responsible for a museum marries a young farmer. At 35 years certainly no difference between them is the fact that while he is an extremely religious man, she can barely read and write. This relationship becomes unattainable, especially when, on the horizon, appears an attractive lawyer who falls for the girl.
