MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1997 film?

After overcoming a heart attack, Peter Crane, a famous Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, decides to leave the busy life of New York and moved with his wife and son to a quiet New England town. However, the calm is short: one day at his house for help a woman who claims that her son has been wrongfully arrested for murder. Peter is interested in the case and find out that the victim was the boyfriend of the accused. After visiting the boy in jail, concludes that he is innocent and that, instead, the villagers have much to hide, in fact, as Peter is tying up the neighbors, at first very friendly , is increasingly hostile to him and his family. A remake called Skeletons (2010) was made based on this movie.
