MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1968 film?

A mysterious criminal has terrorized the city of New York. This is a choke, master in the art of disguise, dedicated to killing middle-aged women, in which there is nothing remarkable, his vulgarity is apparently what interests the murderer. This psychopath has a curious habit of calling the police detective Morris Brummel, to talk with him about his victims. This is how Brummel becomes responsible for the case. The detective's life is as gray and dull: lives with his elderly mother and has to support its authoritarian character. With its first investigation meets the beautiful Kate Palmer and takes her home to introduce her to his mother. Meanwhile the choke, Christopher Gill, a human being in love with the good life, enjoy creating puzzles and red herrings to Brummel.
