In the middle of the romantic era Narcís Monturiol ampurdanés imagined, like his contemporary Jules Verne, it was possible to travel on a ship at the bottom of the sea. He would not settle for a fantasy and made every effort to make your dream a reality. Barcelona then began a period of great industrial growth and enthusiastically welcomed the idea of building a submarine to search for coral. It was a long road that ran Monturiol, almost an entire life devoted to the conquest of the sea, with joys, adventures, failures and moments of glory. A hero of his time who solved the major enigmas of submarine navigation to mid-nineteenth century.
