MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1997 film?

In 1932, syphilis had become an epidemic in the rural areas of the southern United States. To fight it, the authorities created a special treatment program in Tuskegee Hospital, the only hospital for blacks that existed then. However, when economic resources are exhausted, the treatment was discontinued, and the program became simply a study of the fatal outcome of the disease.
