From the establishment of the military dictatorship, the Argentine people had to face one of the worst economic and social crises experienced in a period of peace for a potentially prosperous country. The exorbitant national debt, the inhuman ultraliberalism, rampant corruption and financial policy and regular plundering public assets were the main consequences. And all this was possible thanks to the support of Western multinationals and the complicity of international agencies. The policy of "scorched earth", implemented by Carlos Menem, has led the country into an abyss of hunger, poverty and disease that almost amounts to a social genocide.
