MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1980 film?

Film based on the novel written by Vergílio Ferreira in 1954, who also appears in the cast. The chronicle traces the rise of Antonio, a boy from a poor family, for being smart, is recommended by Doña Estefania, who her mother is a maid, to study at a seminary. Antonio accepts ? ? Not devotion, but by obedience to his mother. Once it is held in the seminar were filled with doubts and anguish. The narrator of the story is Antonio himself as an adult. It is an autobiographical account of stamp which stands at the confluence between the aesthetics of neo - realism and the philosophy of existentialism. The spaces where the plot unfolds have an essential part of psychological, social and symbolic.
