MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2000 film?

The young reporter Elden Tolbert, is sent to his hometown to cover the ongoing trial against his old friend Elsie Townsend for murder. Elden informatively stop covering the trial to become a witness for the defense, since the night in question Elden and Elsie were together. The issue for now is judged Elsie began long ago, when she began an affair with Rick Chambers, a business man, much older than her and married.
