MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2000 film?

Allune is an old man who works in a museum in Senegal. Researching your family tree is that many of their ancestors were kidnapped and sold to slave traders South Carolina. Allune travels to America to investigate documents follows that their relatives would put the surname Robinson. His investigations lead him to New York, where his nephew Hassan, a cab driver from Harlem. Hassan and his girlfriend Biram Allune share their small apartment and he befriends Ida Robinson, the biting owns a small shop. Although Allune believes that Ida might have some relationship with him, he convinces her to use in your business, while not confesses his research.
