MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1994 film?

Year 1828. Max is a 12 years old, homeless orphan who is about to commit suicide by jumping into a sea of clouds on a cliff. For wealth Ambroise, a shepherd without illusions, which coincidentally happens near where Max, what prevents the last moment. That same night, before the leak foiled Max, Ambroise teaches the game of chess which Max is fascinated. Then and only with the first game and its rules only when they had taught, Ambroise it is realized that Max is especially empowered to play chess showing the qualities of a genius to that life, in this way be devoted to roads and travel together peoples.
