MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1940 film?

Patricia is the eldest of six sisters, daughters of a digger. One day he meets Jacques, a teenager airman, eight years older than she moreover, the son of a wealthy shopkeeper from the village. Patricia is in love with Philip, a digger who works with his father, who would be happy to marry both. But she falls for Felipe who beget a child the same day that he goes to the front ... In 2011 there has been a remake, directed and also stars Daniel Auteuil. A remake called La fille du puisatier (2011) was made based on this movie.
