MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1948 film?

Adapted from the novel by Stendhal " The Charterhouse of Parma " set in the early nineteenth century. Having completed his studies in Naples, Fabrizio del Dongo Marquis returns to Parma, his native country, where he is warmly greeted by her aunt the Duchess Sanseverina. But Fabrizio quickly realizes that her aunt's feelings are no longer a loving mother, but has fallen for him. This passion leads her to leave her lover, Count Mosca, and reject the courtship of Prince Ernest, his biggest fan. A number of circumstances make Fabrizio is imprisoned in the Charterhouse of Parma, where he falls in love with the daughter of the governor.
