MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1988 film?

Sixteenth century. Once moreover the Duke of Alba Flemish crushed the rebellion against Spain, Felipe II restricted religious freedom, applied the decrees of the Council of Trent and reinforced the power of the Inquisition in the land. In this context, comes to Bruges with false documents the venerable writer and philosopher Zeno Liger. After founding a clinic and a spa resort, you have to work as a physician and alchemist to some extent the poor. The thinking and methods of Zeno, that deviate from the official orthodoxy, are a big hit among the Flemish population, but all this are in danger of being condemned by the Inquisition.
