Biography of Thomas Jefferson, drafter of the American Declaration of Independence and third president of the U.S.. In 1789, he was appointed U.S. Ambassador in Paris to advise the first revolutionary government. Her love life placed him before a complex dilemma: his love for a French courtesan and her secret passion for his housekeeper.
