MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1974 film?

The action takes place in 1944, in Poland, the Jews trapped in a ghetto. Jakob is one of many desperate people on that site. One afternoon, when it passes near the headquarters of the Gestapo, listening to a radio, advertising a Russian victory in their advance on Berlin. Run to tell, and his partner, believes that he has hidden a radio listening with the Soviet victories hopeful. At the same time adopts Lina, an orphan, to hide from the Nazis. They learn of the mysterious radio news and make more pressure on the Jews, while Jakob increases their lies from the ether of his mind, hence the title, Jakob the Liar. Frankfurter is a Jew who believes in destroying the radio while the doctor gives encourage to continue counting Jakob chronic because these Jews give them a reason to live. In 1999, Peter Kassovitz directed a remake starring Robin Williams.
