MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1944 film?

Terrible were the struggles that Ivan IV the Terrible, the first Tsar of Russia, had to hold against their enemies inside and outside to invent a strong and modern state. In 1547, at age 17, Ivan was crowned tsar in the cathedral of Moscow by the patriarch Macarius. The support of the Church Act gave the sacred prestige would be the basis of the tsarist autocracy. Inside, to fight the boyars, created the Oprichnina, very loyal militia, by which the nobles were killed or deported, and their land confiscated and distributed among the members of this militia. Thus was born a new aristocracy, both feudal service, which blindly served the Tsar and helped consolidate its power. Once pacified the country, the Tsar undertook an expansionist policy towards the south and east. The expansion to the north, whose goal was to find an outlet to the Baltic Sea, failed, however, completely.
