MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1990 film?

Unification of Italy, nineteenth century. Cristina, wife of the Marquess Euphemius, is in love with Giovanni Livraghi, a Milanese of noble birth who fights against the French army trying to protect Pope Pius IX and prevent the unification of Italy. During a crucial battle, Livraghi injured, but Euphemius saves him. When the French take Rome, the revolutionaries are forced to flee to reach Venice. Cristina decides to follow the flight Livraghi. But several Republicans, including Livraghi, are arrested by Austrian troops and sentenced to death. Cristina and her husband seek refuge in Piedmont to continue fighting against the Austrians.
