MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2001 film?

In the early sixteenth century, the young Giovanni de 'Medici was captain of the papal army in the campaign against the Emperor Charles V lansquenetes Germany. In life, he was a myth, as it fought the princes for their extensive experience in the art of war. He loved life. The Goddess Fortuna and women smiled. No thought of death crossed his mind. His downfall was the appearance of firearms: a cannonball hit him a leg, gangrene spread and had to amputate. Still, the necrosis was inevitable and the fierce warrior died on November 29, 1526.
