MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1971 film?

An episode of the BBC's annual collection "Ghost Story for Christmas". In 1932, a catalog librarian proposed the old collection of Barchester Cathedral, not knowing who will be involved in the mysterious death of a priest 50 years ago. Among the volumes discovers a diary that documents the rise and fall of ambitious Archdeacon Haynes, a priest became too impatient to wait for the death of his predecessor. This movie is part of the Ghost Story for Christmas saga (1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976).
