Galileo Galilei was a brilliant mathematician and scientist who was born in Pisa in the sixteenth century and made important scientific contributions to various disciplines. His views on the solar system made him frontally confront the powerful ecclesiastical authorities. Based on a play by Bertolt Brecht, "Galileo " is a complete look at the nature of creation, a portrait that examines the responsibilities of both the creator and the authorities contrasting with a gentleman's battle against conventional wisdom. This movie is part of the Galileo trilogy (1968, 1975, 2011).
