MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1944 film?

In England during the Restoration period, a woman of wealthy position falls for a dashing French pirate, worship and even philosopher and leaves her husband to live all kinds of adventures with his beloved. A remake called El pico del francés (1998) was made based on this movie.
