In 1926, Gorostieta, a retired General in Mexico sees a violent civil war erupts. With the support of his wife, decides to join the revolutionary side and transform an irregular group of rebels without a leader to lead them in a heroic force capable of defending bravely the cause of justice. It is based on the Cristero War, a revolt that broke out due to the persecution of the Catholic Church was victim by the Mexican Government. It set in Mexico and filmed in English, is the most expensive film of Mexican cinema.
